Founded in 1978, the mission of this professional ballet group is to provide Maryland with 30 professional peformances both in the classical and contemporary arts throughout the year. The group peforms at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, The Key Auditorium at St. John's College, the Chesapeake Arts Center, Avalon Theatre, the Bowie Performing Arts Center and other venues throughout Maryland. Davy Dance Academy is a family-run studio offering classes for children and adults. It teaches a number of styles, including Cecchetti Ballet, tap, modern, lyrical and hip hop as well as Zumba and ballroom dance for adults. It is helmed by T. Michelle Davy, artistic director and owner. Ms. Davy is a graduate of the Linda Natoli School of Dance, the University of Maryland College Park, and has additionally trained at the Central Maryland School of Ballet.
Established in 2007, Annapolis Dance Factory offers dance classes for students ages three to adult. The regular session runs from September through June, ending with a recital at Anne Arundel Community College's Pascal Center for Performing Arts.
Classes of varied experience levels and age levels offered include jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical (combines traditional jazz and ballet choreography), hip hop and acrobatics.
