Chelan County Sheriffs Office provides law enforcement and crime prevention services in the city of Wenatchee, Wash. It has a ceremonial unit that provides honor guard services for deputies and their families. The department has a citizen s advisory committee, chaplain s and rescue units, and crime prevention, emergency management and marine patrol divisions. Chelan County Sheriffs Office also has a Special Weapons and Tactics team that in incidents, such as hostage situations, barricaded suspects, and high-risk warrant service and marijuana grow operations. In addition, Chelan County Sheriffs Office operates a records team that handles insurance, incident and victim reports, pistol and firearm licenses, citations and sex offender registration and information.

The Chelan County Public Utility District is located in north central Washington State. It is owned by its customers and governed by a Board of Commissioners elected by the customers. The local customer-owners of the PUD receive dividends in the form of reduced rates for service. The Chelan County PUD owns and operates the United States second largest non-federal, publicly owned hydro-generating system. Two of its hydro projects, Rocky Reach and Rock Island, are part of an 11-dam system on the Columbia River. The District s third hydro project, Lake Chelan, serves a dual purpose of generating power and regulating the level of 50-mile-long Lake Chelan. The three hydro generating projects produce about nine million megawatt-hours of power each year, enough to meet the needs of a city of more than 900,000 people. Chelan County PUD began providing electric service in 1947 and today it operates electric, water and wastewater utilities.

Located in Wenatchee, Wash., the department operates through for service divisions, such as the building, current planning and administration, fire safety and long range planning divisions. Its building division is responsible for building and structural compliance with county ordinances and offers various state and federal law services, including plan review, site and building inspection and grading and drainage. Chelan County Community Development s fire safety division is responsible for fire protection through enforcement of fire codes, ordinances, site inspections, arson investigation and fire safety education programs.
