Shady Grove Campground, located at 7800 Shadburn Ferry Road on the shores of Lake Lanier, offers 110 campsites for visitors and is open through November 6.
During the off-season the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department made improvements to the 109-acre campground costing around $1 million.

The Forsyth County Magistrate Court shares a building with the Tax Commissioners Office.
The role of the Magistrate Court is to handle all civil claims of $15,000 or less. These claims include distress warrants and dispossessory writs, county ordinance violations, bad checks, preliminary hearings, summons, arrest warrants and search warrants. Judge Walker H. Bramblett is the Chief Magistrate.

CASA of Forsyth County, a nonprofit organization, provides court-appointed special advocates to children in the juvenile court system who are abused or neglected. These advocates are volunteers who advocate in a child's best interest throughout the entire court process, whether it takes months or years. The advocate attends all court hearings and writes reports to the judge.
