Senior & Disabled Services is the Area Agency on Aging and Disability Services for Lane County, Oregon. The agency is responsible for planning and administering programs and services for people with disabilities and the elderly. Services are financed by contributions from participants and by local, state and federal government funds. The agency maintains an Internet web site where information about nursing facilities, Medicaid, Meals on Wheels, Oregon Project Independence, and many other services for Oregon seniors and people with disabilities can be found. The agency offers services, including information and referral, at eight locations in Lane County. Many of its programs and services have income or service requirements, not all programs do. The agency investigates complaints about assisted living facilities, residential care facilities, adult foster homes and nursing facilities. It also has a team of Adult Protective Service Workers who investigate reports of suspected neglect or abuse of the elderly person, or of adults with a disability.
