The waste water and collection department is in charge of Forsyth County's water, sewer and maintenance infrastructure. The department's responsibility is to keep water flowing and maintain the county's manholes, sewers and water lines.

The Forsyth County Jail (Adult Detention Center) is managed and operated by Ted Paxton, the sheriff of Forsyth County, and his staff. The detention commander is in charge of the day-to-day operations. Upon entering this facility, a set of rules will be given to you outlining what is expected of you, and what will be done for you during your period of confinement. By law, the sheriff's office personnel are not allowed to give out the names and telephone numbers of bonding companies.
