Established in 1977, the Whitfield County Fire Department offers fire suppression and prevention and public safety education methods to reduce the loss of lives and property for the citizens of Whitfield County, Ga. It operates a training center and a fleet of mobile command vehicles. The fir department conducts fire prevention presentations in county schools and works to improve fire prevention programs for the citizens of the county. The Whitfield County Fire Department also conducts fire inspections and annual preincident surveys on commercial structures. It operates fire stations in Pleasant Grove, Dawnville, Varnell, Carbondale, Tunnel Hill, Westside, Eastside, Mill Creek and Beaverdale, Ga.
