Sex therapy is a legitimate form of traditional psychotherapy (talk therapy) which focuses on sexual feelings, attitudes, behaviors and education. Sex therapy never involves sexual contact. People of all walks of life, cultures, and sexual orientation, are appropriate clients as well as those who engage in non-traditional forms of sexual expression . A definition of "normal" sexual behavior is relative and should not be defined in a judgmental manner as long as it is legal and consensual. Initially, a sexual history is obtained to clarify goals, expectations, levels of functioning and overall satisfaction. Intimate details are important to the process and always discussed with sensitivity and respect for a clients comfort.
