Dr. Dumas uses a number of therapeutic techniques, tailoring her treatment to each clients needs. She encourages clients to be active participants in their therapy, identifying problems and setting goals as a team. Dr. Dumas has been trained in cognitive-behavioral and systemic therapy, and uses both in her practice to help you change patterns that are not effective, as well as to reach an understanding of the origin of those patterns. As a solution-focused therapist, her goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we cant change difficult situations of the past, she can work with you to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back will be explored.
