Formed in 1946, United Spinal Association is a membership organization, specializing disability rights movement. Located in Flushing, N.Y., the organization caters patients with several spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D), including multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, Lou Gehrigs disease and post polio. It hosts lectures, training programs and seminars on pertinent health care issues facing the disability community. The association also specializes in providing self-advocacy and coaching support, wheelchair and assistive technology consultation, counseling services and disaster assistance.
