In 1968, the Martin Luther King Recreation Center was added to the park facilities. The land for Martin Luther King Park (originally Nicollet Park) was purchased in 1916. Now the center hosts a variety of programs for all ages utilizing the many amenities; a basketball court, craft room, gymnasium, meeting rooms, volleyball court, computer lab and kitchen. Lions Park offers the usual amenities you'd find at a neighborhood park, but one thing that stands out about this park is its vast open spaces. People use the open spaces for soccer, games of catch, or just lounging around in the sun. Other things offered at Lions Park include walkways and trails, playground equipment, grills, a basketball court, two tennis courts, four softball fields, a soccer field, game squares, skating rinks in the winter for hockey and general use, and a warming house. The park also offers two parking lots -- one with 76 spaces, the other with 66 spaces.

The recently remodeled Ramsey County Library is an impressive, modern, airy two-story building that can be found along Hamline, just north of County Road B. The first floor is mostly magazines, kids books, and teen lit as well as DVDs and CDs. It also includes a large computer lab. The second floor has more computers as well as an extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction books. The library also includes limited seating for people who'd like to read a little of a book before deciding if they want to check it out.

Lebanon Hills Regional Park is located on Pilot Knob Road at the intersection of Carriage Hills Drive. This enormous park offers 13 miles of nature trails for hiking, 10 miles of horse trails, 6 miles of mountain bike trails, campgrounds, a visitors center, a fishing pier, and kayak and canoe rentals for $8 an hour or $35 a day for the 5-mile portage trail including paddles and life vests. Grills and picnic tables are also available. The visitors center provides maps, courses, vending machines and restrooms, and will even loan visitors fishing gear.

This church nestled in the Westwood Hills neighborhood of St. Louis Park is a member of the Assemblies of God denomination. Sunday services feature drum, guitar and piano music and involve "interactive worship," as Pastor Bob Christenson describes, where members engage in prayer for a large portion of the service. Mount Olivet states as its vision to bring the life and ministry of God to the church and to the world. The church offers ministries for everyone, including groups for men, women, students, young adults, kids, Hispanics and seniors. Mount Olivet's music ministry offers opportunities for instrumentalists, vocalists and ensembles, as well as technical individuals trained to work with the audio and visual equipment. Services are held several times during the week, including Sunday morning and evening, as well as Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Project Pathfinder is a private, nonprofit organization that focuses on the elimination of sexual violence and abuse. It provides a range of behavioral health services for adolescents, children and adults. The organization offers psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, psychological testing and aftercare services. Project Pathfinder also offers community-based treatment and educational programs for children who are the victims of sexual abuse. Its Children Learning and Improving Boundaries program is a family-focused curriculum that is designed to prevent sexual abuse among children and their families. In addition, the organization provides individual, family and group therapies. Located in St. Paul, Minn., it conducts various training sessions and workshops.
