Millard Park is at the very dead end of Ravine Drive.  It is a beautiful drive just to reach the park itself.  Once there, the 14-acre park offers beach access, fishing, a perennial garden and a lot of natural flowers and trees.  A parking permit is required.

Located just north of downtown Highland Park, the house plays many roles:  it's an art center, it's available to be rented for public events and it houses a Montessori school. JCYS George W. Lutz Family Center provides a range of child-centered programs for the development of physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills. It offers preschool, kindergarten enrichment and vacation day programs. The center organizes various sports and recreational camps. JCYS George W. Lutz Family Center provides enrichment classes in areas, such as science, nature, literature and art. The center operates before- and after-school clubs. Its preschool program includes lunch, rest and afternoon curriculum. JCYS George W. Lutz Family Center offers rental packages for birthday parties and sports and special events. It is a part of JCYS, which is an independent, nonprofit agency that provides volunteer services for the Jewish communities in Chicago. Mooney Park emcompasses six-acres in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Highland Park. It offers baseball/softball fields as well as basketball courts. There is a walking path around the park as well as a playground.  The park is surrounded by beautiful trees that make the park feel isolated from the rest of the neighborhood.

Jens Jensen Park is named in honor of the famed landscape architect. Jens Jensen Park is the only park in Highland Park designed by Jensen, a Ravinia resident and nationally known landscape architect. The park contains native shrubs and trees, natural materials and a stone council ring. It was dedicated to Jensen in 1980. There is an informative kiosk and a perennial garden. The acre park also features a picnic area.

Old Elm Park is located on Krenn Avenue.  There is street parking available on the west side of the street.  Old Elm Park has a unique playground area for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-school-age children.  There are two tennis courts and two baseball/softball fields.  There are picnic tables and bathrooms.

Woodridge Park is a beautiful park found at the end of Barberry Road. On its twelve acres, there is a lot to do.  here is a baseball field, a basketball court and tennis courts. There is a playground for the tot, preschooler and elementary school-age child. There is a short walking trail around the park. and this park has been designated a natural area.

Sunset Woods Park is a well-known park in Highland Park and it covers 38 acres of property, all of it fully utilized. Eight of those acres have been designated a natural area. Sunset Woods Park offers a picnic area, as well as facilities for many activities, including a paved path for walkers and runners. For tennis players, there are seven courts all of which are lit; four are  soft courts, three are hard courts. There is a skatepark for the skateboarder and an ice rink in the winter. Athletic fields at the park include those for baseball, football and basketball. There are also four playground areas at the park that suit the needs of small children through elementary school age children.

Downtown Highland Park is a nonprofit public/private partnership of Highland Park Downtown property owners, the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce and the city of Highland Park. The organization offers various marketing promotions throughout the year for the 450 businesses in the district at no charge to the businesses themselves. DHP promotes its core mission through the Highland Park Gift Card during the holiday season.

West Ridge Park is located on Ridge Road, but parking may be better by Red Oak School, on Red Oak Lane. The park features two baseball/softball fields, soccer and football fields. There is a .4 mile paved path around the park as well as a playground for tots, preschoolers and elementary school aged children. A batting cage area is also available for practicing.

This non-profit arts center was founded more than 50 years ago, as an outlet for North Shore artists. Just north of downtown Highland Park, the experience begins before one even walks inside. The grounds of the center are alive with sculptures of various types. Inside, information about classes, exhibitions and workshops are offered. The center is supported by donations, and those who donate receive special privileges as members.
