Established in 1883, Childrens Home + Aid is a social service agency that offers more than 70 programs in over 40 counties throughout Illinois. Apna Ghar, founded in 1990, is a domestic violence shelter, serving Asian women and children. The organization takes its name from a Hindi and Urdu phrase meaning our home and has served more than 5,000 domestic violence victims since its inception.
