The Old Firehouse in downtown McLean is the town's Teen Center. Located in McLean's former firehouse, the center is a safe place for teenagers to meet, play games, us the computer lab, go to dances, take trips. There is an after -school program for middle school students so they don't have to go home to empty houses. The center recently received new furniture. The Friday night dances are the most popular activities. The center is free to members. It is operated by the McLean Community Center. There is also a morning program for senior citizens in McLean.
McLean Swim & Tennis Associates is a community-based youth and adult recreational facility available only to members and their guests. This large four-acre site offers its members an array of programs and services from social events to national league swim team participation. Membership information is available on the website.
The Lewinsville Senior Center is one of 13 centers run by Fairfax County government to help residents 55 and older meet new friends, stay on the move and take classes. More than 200 seniors use the center daily. The center sponsors trips and classes including piano, functional fitness, line dancing and yoga.
This facility provides day care for impaired adults who need supervision, friendship and activities. The day care center for seniors is run by the Fairfax County Health Department. It serves hot breakfast, lunch and snacks, and is located in the Lewinsville Center. Lewinsville also houses a senior center for those 55 and older.
