The Lindenhurst Village Community Center is the local meeting area for residents. It offers departments for little league, softball, baseball, lacrosse, junior soccer, football, and cheerleading leagues. The community center also offers a senior center and space for group meetings.
The Lindenhurst Youth Center is a non-profit organization for youth in the Lindenhurst community up to 17 years of age. The youth center provides children and young adolescents with a fun place to get together in a safe and controlled environment. The center offers a drop-in lounge specifically for 10-17 year olds and offers sports tournaments, field trips, parties and more. Between October and April, the youth center also runs a basketball league for boys and girls ages 9-12. Stop in to check out some of the events happening at the LYC.
Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal organization with locations throughout the country and the world. This Babylon location is Lodge # 1421 and provides various sports and recreational programs, as well as various community services. Women of the Moose holds meetings at this chapter and offers various programs, including youth awareness and Special Olympics events. This location is south of Montauk Highway and one light west of Wellwood Avenue.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars is a national organization of service members who are veterans of war. In addition to connecting people together socially it also participates in community organization and events. The hall can also be rented out during non-meeting times for use in private special events such as birthday parties, weddings, community events and more.
