Boys & Girls Club of Westminster is a community organization that provides kids in the community a safe place to learn, play and grow. The club offers a wide range of programs for kids, including educational programs, arts activities, organized sports and recreational programs.
Bear Branch Nature Center is located just past the Hashawa Environmental Center. Bear Branch mails a seasonal newsletter to members with a list of upcoming events. Nature hikes, environmental programs and planetarium programs are a few of the activities you'll find here. It features a library resource room, bird observation room, discovery room, exhibit hall, auditorium, a 40-seat planetarium and gift shop. Bear Branch is open to the public and free of charge. The Get Connected Family Resource Center, located in the Carroll County Nonprofit Center in Westminster, is a program of the Carroll County Local Management Board funded by the Governor's Office on Children through Mosaic Services. It is a free service for residents of Carroll County, providing help and guidance for anything that might be considered a basic need for families, including insurance advice, volunteering opportunities, educational issues, mental health resources, energy assistance and much more. Its main goal is to help families find help in any way they might need assiatance.
