The Gaithersburg Upcounty Senior Center offers a variety of services to city residents and nonresidents 55 years and older. Annual membership for Gaithersburg residents is $40; the fee is $115 for nonresidents. Classes in art, fitness, computer literacy, driving, dancing, knitting, and foreign languages are available--some for free. Participants take occasional field trips, leaving from the center,  and a reduced-price lunch option is available for members 60 and older.

The Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington has three offices. The Gaithersburg location is on Muddy Branch Rd. The Activity Center at Bohrer Park offers 57,000 square feet of space to do practically anything. Two 8,000 foot gyms are often open for public use, and many camps and after-school programs are held at the Center. There are three 1,000 square foot multipurpose rooms that can be rented and used for special events.

Opened in 2009 and located adjacent to Gaithersburg Middle School, the Gaithersburg Youth Center in Olde Towne serves mainly middle school students, but also welcomes high school students. An annual membership fee of $12 for city residents and $15 for non-residents applies. The center, built entirely with recycled materials, features video games, pool tables, pingpong, computers and a state-of-the-art music recording and mixing studio. Field trips and activities are organized throughout the school year.

Community Support Services (CSS) is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities. CSS offers a wide range of programs and services for both adults and children, focusing on individual needs in school, work, home and the community. Services are rendered in the environments in which the individual desires to live, work, recreate or pursue educational goals. Some adult services include supported employment programs, residential assistance, recreational programs and day habilitation help. Built in 1985, the Upper County Community Center offers an array of  classes that changes with each season. The center features a gymnasium with basketball, volleyball and badminton courts; a fitness room with weightlifting and cardio equipment; a social hall that can handle 150 people; a meeting room for groups of 25 or fewer; a partial-service kitchen; and pool tables and a ping pong table.

The adjoining Upper County Outdoor Pool at 8211 Emory Grove Rd. is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Its features include an eight-lane lap pool, a leisure pool with a towering water slide, a toddler pool, a snack bar and a bath house. Seasonal passes are $275 for a family and $195 for one person. One-day passes are $6 for county residents.
