Sexton Hall Enrichment Center opened in 2011 and is operated by the Forsyth County Senior Services department. It offers a wide variety of programs for adults age 50 and older, including fitness, technology, art and continuing education classes. Shelly Johnson is the director.
Cumming Fairgrounds hosts county fairs, festivals and during the summer season, a farmer's market. Among these events are the IPRA World Champion Rodeo, the annual Steam and Gas Engine Expo, community yard sales and free concerts. There is also a farming village that demonstrate the functions of a cotton gin and corn and syrup mills. A huge parking lot is available across the street. Central Park Recreation Center can be found within Central Park. The recreation center includes a wide range of facilities such as, two basketball gyms, a fitness area, mezzanine walking area, a meeting room and classrooms.
The meeting room is available to rent for business gatherings, birthday parties and wedding/baby showers. The classrooms are used for art, fitness, and dance classes.
On September 28, 2010, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially open the expansion of the recreation center. There is now 15,000 sq. ft. of added space that includes three rooms for adult and youth programs, and a sizable banquet room.
