The Rolnick Observatory is located on Bayberry Lane at the highest point in Westport. There are several buildings at the site, including the observatory and a warming hut for visitors. The observatory, which is maintained by the Westport Astronomical Society, has two telescopes available for use by the general public: a 12½-inch Newtonian reflector and a 25-inch Newtonian telescope, the largest in the state of Connecticut. The Westport Center for Senior Activities offers a host of recreational and educational programming for seniors from yoga and physical health classes to crafts, languages and computer classes. The center also offers a nutrition program that includes home-delivered meals. Susan Pfister serves as the center's director.
Toquet Hall Teen Center is a non-profit teen center run by the Town of Westport that operates under the Department of Human Services.
The facility opened in 1998 as a response to the needs of Westport youth for a safe and fun place they could call their own. Its mission is to meet the critical and emerging needs of Westport teens.
Toquet Hall is a supervised, drug and alcohol-free center where high school age youth can initiate and participate in social, cultural, recreational and educational activities. The facility is governed by a partnership of high school students and adults.
The shared values and goals of participants in Toquet Hall include building trust between teens and adults, growing leadership skills and developing respect for oneself and others.
