Founded as an agricultural college and preparatory school, New Mexico State University has been operational for more than 100 years. One of the leading providers of higher education in the United States, it enrolls more than 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. The university has campuses in Alamogordo, Carlsbad, Grants and Dona Ana, N.M. It is approved by Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
