United Open Bible Missions is a place of worship located in western Skokie. UOBM is an offshoot of the Pentecostal church and was begun in the early 1930s. Some of the hallmarks of the faith include a belief in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, with speaking in tongues being a manifestation of that gift.
This worship center is one of over 300 in the United States.
Everest College, part of the for-profit network of Corinthian Colleges, has been preparing post-grads for professional careers since 1995. With a focus on formal job training, Everest makes an effort to provide instructors with real world experience. On the Skokie campus, students can train in dentistry, medical billing and other aspects of medical administration.
Everest College now offers online courses as well.
For more than 60 years, Arie Crown Hebrew Day School has been providing quality general and Jewish studies education for Chicago area youth, instilling within them a strong sense of Jewish pride. Graduates often go on to attend quality Jewish high schools, universities and yeshivot around the world. Arie Crown provides education from early childhood to grade eight.

Cheder Lubavitch Hebrew Day School was founded in 1979 with only five students. It now offers separate programs for boys and girls between pre-kindergarten and 8th grade. All Jewish children are welcome and scholarships are available.
Oakton Community College provides more than 2,500 course offerings each term. This institution offers personal enrichment courses, degree programs and non-credit career enhancement courses. There is an additional campus for this school in Des Plaines.
CCEA Chinese Language School is a part of the Chinese Cultural and Educational Association. This school is the oldest Chinese language school outside of Chinatown in the area. The school offers sixteen language classes as well as a number of cultural classes in dance, arts and crafts, and calligraphy, as well as many others.
The mission of the Skokie Montessori School is to recognize and respect the fundamental value, dignity, talents and special needs of each child. Designed to provide an ample variety of learning experiences geared to the developmental needs of children from two to 12 years old, each program provides a high-level curriculum in the areas of science, geography, mathematics, language, sensorial activities, practical life activities, art and music. Skokie Montessori aims to provide children with a stimulating environment to enhance their interest in learning, while promoting social interaction, emotional development, physical coordination, and cognitive preparation. The Skokie Montessori is a member of the American Montessori Society, and is registered under the Illinois Board of Education and licensed from the DCFS.
Since 1921, Hebrew Theological College (HTC) has ordained hundreds of rabbis who have served as rabbis, chaplains and educators in the US, Canada, Israel and throughout the world. The college was formerly on the west side of Chicago, but in 1958, a new classroom and administration building was completed in suburban Skokie and operations in the new location began at once. To this day, the goal of encouraging each student to pursue general knowledge, while providing the best Judaic Studies program possible is the aim of the HTC.
