SCAD Atlanta is a private, nonprofit art and design university. SCAD originally was founded in 1978 in Savannah, and has grown to include campuses in Lacoste, France, Hong Kong, and this Atlanta campus, which was founded after a merger between the Atlanta College of Art and SCAD. The school offers more than 40 areas of study, including fashion, advertising, writing, sculpture, graphic design, interior design and photography. Georgia Perimeter College's Dunwoody campus is a two-year college, one of five campuses in the Georgia Perimeter College system. Altogether, the system services more than 25,000 students.
