Xavier College Preparatory High School offers a Roman Catholic-based education to males and females from across the Coachella Valley. The school was 20 years in the making and opened to 48 freshman in the fall of 2006.

Students are required to take classes in English, religion, social studies, math, science, fine arts, language and physical education. AP and honors courses are offered, and students are able to play on sports teams, including basketball, soccer and tennis. The first graduating class, the class of 2010, had a 100 percent graduation rate, and students went off to establishments such as Harvard, UCLA and USC. Financial assistance is available.

Founded in 1984, Sacred Heart School is a Catholic school that serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. The school operates a homework board for students in grades two through eight. Its academic curriculum includes Bible, reading, math, social studies and science subjects. Additionally, the school conducts classes in religion, family life, arts, physical education and computer applications. It operates a foreign language department that offers classes in Spanish. California State University, San Bernardino's Palm Desert campus first opened in 1985 and moved to its home on Cook Street in 2002. The school is on a quarter system, with most classes lasting 11 weeks. Sixteen degrees and credentials are offered, with 18% of students enrolled in the liberal arts program, 14% in psychology and 10% in nursing. Special programs include the College of Extended Learning and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, for those over the age of 50. The school has a bookstore, library, student health center and theater, as well as an extensive collection of sculptures on display throughout the campus. Students come from across the Coachella Valley, with almost one-quarter percent living in Indio and 15% in Palm Desert.

The UC Riverside, Palm Desert Graduate Center opened in order to provide a research and learning center for graduate students.

The UCR Palm Desert Graduate Center is home to two graduate programs: Executive Master of Business Administration and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. These two graduate programs are not only promoted for further education, but are also designed to promote partnerships that will advance the public good, as well as the impact the cultural life of the community. 

The Center has a full range of meeting and event services to UC students, faculty, staff, in addition to the public. Anyone planning on a meeting, conference, retreat, film screening, workshop, or special event may utilize the University's campus for assistance.

College of the Desert is one of the leading educational institutions in Northern California. The college has been operational for more than 85 years, and enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually.
