Dobson Academy, located in Chandler, Ariz., is a charter school offering classes from grades kindergarten through eight. It provides a core academic program that is aligned to Arizona state standards and the Stanford-9 objectives. Its curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, Spanish and technology. Dobson s curriculum also meets the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. Dobson Academy has adopted the Ball Foundations School Design Collaborative that facilitates shared decision making among all school stakeholders, including parents, teachers, administrators, staff and students for the purpose of increasing student achievement and parent satisfaction. Its volunteer program aims to develop a closer relationship between the school and the community. Volunteers work directly with students in the classrooms, and serve on teams involved with the development and implementation of school programs. The academy has a fully equipped library and computer laboratory, and also provides various after school programs.
