Worked for the Good Housekeeping Shop of Columbus for 20 years as a service manager. A skilled electrician and plumber, he serviced all household applicances. In 1945, he left the Good Housekeeping Shop to start his own appliance business in Dublin. In 1949, he relocated his business to Columbus, and became an Authorized Factory Service representative for Maytag Company. In the early 1950s, Hildreths became a Maytag Parts Distributor, followed by a Maytag Route Operator in the Late 50s. ED HILDRETH In 1956, Ed Hildreth became an employee, working in all facets of the business. In this same year, the business was moved to a larger facility at 29 E. Fifth Avenue, in Columbus. In 1978, Hildreths moved to a much larger facility located at 995 N. 4th Street in Columbus.
