The quaint coffee and tea shop masters the neighborhood feel. A Manhattan family business since 1908, the shop expanded to Hoboken 14 years ago. Empire is an artisanal coffee roaster, roasting all coffee by hand. The atmosphere is cozy, with two indoor tables and several outdoor ones. The left wall is lined with fresh coffee beans from around the world; the right wall features deluxe gift baskets, tea pots and chocolates. There is a tea room located behind the register, where customers can choose from a huge variety of loose leaf teas.
Rockn' Joe is a coffeehouse and bistro with a rock music theme. Many of the drinks and dishes have a music theme and the walls are covered with music memorabilia. The menu offers light fare including sandwiches and salads. There's also a vast dessert selection, including pies, cakes, cookies and brownies. If you're a rock music fan, you're sure to hear your favorite songs sitting in the restaurant.
This friendly coffee shop offers fair-trade, American-roasted coffee, in addition to serving specialty drinks, desserts and pastries. Sit in one of the plush chairs opposite of the counter and try a beverage from the shop's rare Clover single-cup brewer. You can also pull out your laptop at the long counter running along the shop's storefront window and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi available. There is live music nightly on weekends and an open-mic on Mondays.
