Established in 1982, Colonial Coatings is a provider of specialty coating services for the aerospace and commercial sectors. Based in Milford, Conn., the firm is one of only four sources for high altitude endurance anodize in the United States. It is the prime source for magnesium surface sealing for the Sikorsky Blackhawk and Seahawk engine transmissions. In addition, the company provides a wide variety of surface sealing and painting services, specializing in its proprietary 961 and 985 Rockhard coatings for sealing magnesium and other light metal alloys. Apart from these, Colonial Coatings makes use of plasma arc technology to coat parts for enhancing performance and increasing longevity.
