The American Legion Dewitt C. Mitchell Post 201 is a branch of the largest veterans organization in the nation. The Legion aims to carry out its mission, as per its website, of "mentoring and sponsoring youth programs in the community, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans," in Lemon Grove.

Some of the many services it provides includes the creation of the Child Welfare Fund, the foundation and operation of the American Legion baseball league, the operation of the Heroes to Hometowns program, offering students scholarships, a family support network, POW/MIA advocacy and flag advocacy.

This is a long-standing post of the VFW.  A few events are open to the public, such as the parking lot sale. It advocates on a variety of veterans' issues and acts as a social club for combat veterans.

Established in 1960, the Lemon Grove Masonic Lodge provides meeting and banquet hall space for local residents. It is located on the corner where three streets (Grange, Davidson and Main) intersect. It is also conveniently located near the Lemon Grove Main Street Trolley stop. Masons, which are a part of the the world's first and largest fraternal organization, believe in tolerance, ethics, family, personal growth, freedom and philanthropy.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation (VFW) is 'committed to improving the lives of veterans and service personnel, their families and the communities in which they live and work.' This particular office is conveniently located near the 94 and 125 freeways on Federal Boulevard.
