This evangelical Lutheran church is affiliated with the Missouri Synod. Located on Napa's west side, the church operates a private school for Kindergarten through eighth grade and has converted part of its property into a community garden where church members, ministers and local volunteers work together to produce hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables for the Napa Valley Food Bank each year.
The angelic musicians who adorn the steeple of this Gothic landmark have been watching over the city of Napa since 1874. One of downtown's most photographed buildings, First Presbyterian also offers Christian child care and a day school and serves free meals to the hungry every weekday from 3pm to 4:45pm. Stop by the church office on Third Street for a self-guided tour of the historic sanctuary with its elaborately-patterned stained glass windows.
This small church is located just west of Highway 29 and shares access from First Street with its larger neighbor, Crosswalk Community Church. Christians meet here every Sunday for worship services, and twice a week for bible study.
Covenant Presbyterian Church, located next door to Presbytery of the Redwoods, also shares space with Sunrise Montessori School. In addition to offering worship services, music programs, volunteer groups and other activities, the church has an outdoor labyrinth with views of the Napa Valley vineyards and hills.
Napa's southernmost church stands against a backdrop of vines and hills, with a spectacular view across the Napa Valley. Hillside offers ministries for children, teens and young adults, and is also home to the Global Passion missionary society, which arranges short-term mission trips for volunteers.
