Puyallup City Hall was dedicated in Aug. 2008. The building is approximately on the same site as the old Redmen's Opera House, which was used as a city hall until 1949 when an earthquake damaged it so badly the building was condemened and torn down.

Here, citizens can attend city council and other public meetings, pay utilities and find local government offices and resources.

In 1880 the residents of Puyallup decided they needed something to complete and expand their town. So they began building a city library by renting a room and employing Puyallup's first librarian, Francis McCoy. Today, the beautiful Puyallup Public Library sits on the edge of Pioneer Park.

The Puyallup Public Library is now a gorgeous artistic community feature with sculptures outside and a grand staircase to the second story -- all of which overlooks the greenery of Pioneer Park. Amenities such as computer terminals, a kids books section and kiosks help patrons find the correct resources. The library also features a variety of programs for kids, teens and adults, making it a social and resourceful community fixture.

The Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce is a great place for business owners to network and build relationships in the valley community. Monthly coffee socials, political forums and leadership summits are all available to members. The conference room is available by reservation. There are approximately 530 Chamber members, with about 10 percent of them based in Sumner. That number is exponentially growing, along with the opportunities for local visibility, marketing and membership perks. The Chamber is also a great resource for Puyallup and Sumner visitors, with lots of resources and literature on local attractions and regional history.
