Built on the site of what was a work detention camp in the 1970s, Chinn Park Regional Library is 25,000 square feet and serves the entire Woodbridge community, from young children to seniors. In addition to its large book collection, Chinn Park Regional Library has two individual study rooms, a larger quiet study room and a shop. Unique to this location is the Management and Government Information Center (MAGIC), where a trained staff will help you access information about all levels of government services. The Prince William County Library Administration is housed in this building.
The city's Finance Department collects and oversees all city funds. It also purchases materials and services for the city and collects taxes. It's the place to go to register a vehicle to pay the proper personal property taxes. It issues business licenses and also assesses personal property taxes on things such as a house or car. It also has staff to help city residents file state income taxes.
The Arlington County Government jail records are located on North Courthouse Road, one block from the courthouse metro station. The records are housed in the Arlington Justice Center, which also contains the Arlington Detention Center. It holds records pertaining to arrests and inmates within Arlington County.
Gadsby's Tavern Museum is named for John Gadsby, who operated a tavern and the City Hotel in Alexandria from 1796 - 1808. Gadsby's establishments were visited by prominent guests of that time, including George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. The museum offers guided tours and has a gift shop. The last tour of the day is at 4:45pm. Admission for adults is $5 and $3 for children ages 5 - 12. Check the museum's Website for details on discounts.
The Judicial Center is located near the Adult Detention Center and Public Health clinic in Manassas City and serves residents of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park. The Department of Community Development and Planning is made up of three divisions dedicated to improving and promoting Fairfax City's residential and business areas.
The Planning and Design Review Division helps with long-range planning and the design of new developments. Comprehensive and master plans come out of this division.
The Current Planning Division deals with zoning ordinances, providing standards for development, land use and structures in the city. It reviews rezoning, special-use permits, special exception and variance applications. It reviews site plans, subdivisions and the city's Chesapeake Bay water quality program.
The Economic Development Division works to strengthen the city's economic base by promoting office and retail opportunities and helping those interested navigate city regulations and processes.

Station No. 20 is a fire house staffed by full-time professional firefighters. They provide both marine and land rescue services.
The Alexandria Archives and Records Center identifies, preserves and makes available to the public the city's public records, dating from the late 19th century to the present. For students in grades K through 12, the center offers a 45-minute education program teaching the how-tos of record management. Cost is $1 per student and per chaperone. The programs are conducted between 9am and 3pm, Monday through Friday. To schedule a program, contact the archivist at the number provided. Volunteer hours and internships are available.
