The West Bloomfield Township Public Library was awarded the 2010 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor for museums and libraries. They are governed by an elected six-member Board of Trustees and the current President of the board is Ken Macon.

This administration building houses the training center for the West Bloomfield Township Fire Department. It is located on the south side of Maple Road between Orchard Lake and Middlebelt roads in the same building as Station #5. In 2009, the West Bloomfield Fire Department responded to 6,065 calls for service. Its chief is Jay Wiseman.
A total of 21 employees work for the West Bloomfield Water & Sewer Department. This department provides repair and maintenance of water and sewer mains and related structures, as well as the administration of programs required by state and federal agencies such as, sump pump and roof drain inspections, and answering consumer questions regarding their water and sewer bills. The department does not perform cleaning of sanitary sewer service lines on private property.
With more than 200 members, the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business for the greater West Bloomfield area community. The Chamber serves a diverse cross-section of the local economy including business owners, medical care providers, professional practices and sole proprietors and is led by a volunteer Board of Directors including President Allan Sefton and Nabil Khoury of Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. The Chamber also hosts a wide variety of outreach events on a regular basis, geared toward the community at-large.
The West Bloomfield Township Police Department is located in the Civic Center complex. Led by Chief Mike Patton, the department has 79 sworn officers.
The Patrol Division, comprised of the Traffic Safety Bureau and the Records Bureau, provides road patrol services and handles all initial investigations.
The Investigations Division is made up of the Detective Bureau and the Youth Bureau. The Detective Bureau handles all investigations involving adult criminals and victims while the Youth Bureau specializes in crimes that involve underage victims and juvenile offenders.
The West Bloomfield Parks & Recreation Transportation Program provides local transportation to senior citizens, ages 55 and above, as well as people with disabilities. The program serves all of West Bloomfield Township as well as many areas outside it. Medical and nonmedical transports are available; medical transports are used for doctor, dental, optical, hospital or therapy appointments, while nonmedical transports will take passengers to a number of businesses around town. Seniors may call the program to schedule a ride.
