The Miami Parking Authority, officially known as the Department of Off-Street Parking of the City of Miami in Florida, was established in 1995. The authority is engaged in the development, construction and management of parking facilities, including more than 10 garages, over 85 surface lots, and nearly 500 pay and display meters. The Miami shores Public Works Department is responsible for the administration and supervision of streets, parks, sanitation, storm water, and recreation and fleet maintenance divisions. Its parks division maintains manual irrigation systems and develops landscapes and specialized plant beds. The department s sanitation division employs a staff of more than 20 employees and offers curbside recycling, bulk trash removal, and residential and commercial garbage collection services. The Miami shores Public Works Department is also responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of village-owned vehicles and equipment. It additionally provides maintenance services for streets, sidewalks and drainage systems. The department also offers storm water management, building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry and masonry services.
