The Maintenance Department is a part of the City of Montgomery in Alabama, which was incorporated in 1819 and has a population of more than 201,900 people. The department is responsible for maintaining the infrastructural facilities of the city. The Maintenance Department includes a street division that repairs, cleans and renovates public streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, as well as stormwater systems, such as drainage inlets, ditches and pipes. Its building division constructs and maintains various facilities, including swimming pools and fountains. The division also provides plumbing, roof repair and custodial services. The Maintenance Department s property division removes and trims diseased and dying trees.
