Zoning is conjoined with Planning in one department under the direction of the First Selectman.
Appeals can be made through official application by residents or businesses for variances or exemptions from the zoning regulations. The Zoning Board of Appeals, which consists of six members, is the body that admits and processes the applications.
The Planning and Zoning Department is located in the Annex Building in the Town Hall complex.
