The Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance Office in Framingham is located next to the Middlesex County Juvenile Court. The Office was formerly knows as the Department of Public Welfare.
The Office aides low-income individuals and families by helping them meet their basic needs, increase their incomes and improve their quality of life.
The Office serves individuals with disabilities, the elderly, working family and children, and those with low or no income. Services include food and nutritional aid as well as job training and unemployment benefits.
The Commonwealth says one out of every 10 people in Massachusetts uses the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance.
