A primary contact for the Shore office and issues
The City of Long Beach Utility Services department administrates and processes water, gas and oil utility services. This includes bill statements, payments, utility turn-ons, transfers, gas pilot light services and fumigation.
Animal Care Services provides animal adoptions and tags, picks up stray animals and provides shelter for lost animals while they wait to be reunited with their owners. The shelter offers six acres of safe space featuring indoor and outdoor kennels and a screened-in cat colony.

Gas and Oil is in charge of all gas and oil operations within the City of Long Beach. This office oversees reservoir operations, subsidence and geology, energy and services operations and more. It is located on Spring Street.
This local Internal Revenue Service office accepts cash payments and account inquiries and provides adjustments, alien clearances, tax return transcripts and copies, applications for taxpayer assistance orders and other services. It offers multilingual assistance in more than 150 languages.
The City of Long Beach Successor Agency provides information on the dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency, which restored neighborhoods and improved communities.
The Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach administrates rental housing assistance programs for the city. It serves the elderly, the infirm and low-income residents. Its programs include the Housing Choice Voucher Program, Housing Opportunities for Persons Living with AIDS, Veteran’s Affairs Supportive Housing, Project-Based Vouchers and the Shelter Plus Care and Homeless Assistance Program.
The El Dorado Nature Center is a local park and museum. It also offers scenic hiking trails.
Numerous local government offices operate out of the Long Beach City Hall, including city attorneys, the mayor and auditor. The city council holds its meetings at this location and works on laws and the city budget.
The California Employment Development Department offers services in labor insurance provisions for employees, unemplyment and job training services, payroll taxes and labor market information and resources. It also provides disabililty insurance claims management.
