The City Manager implements policy decisions made by the City Council and enforces city ordinances. The manager's duties range from appointment and supervision of directors of the city's operating departments to supervision of the conduct of city employees to preparation and presentation of a proposed annual city budget.
The mission of the sheriff's office is to provide citizens with the highest level of law enforcement in a fair and equitable manner. It hopes that members of the community will trust it to respond with respect and compassion in their time of need. By working proactively with citizens, the office hopes to keep Johnson County a safe place to live and work.
The office is made up of the patrol division, the jail division, records, the civil division, the investigative division and the reserve division. Through these divisions, the office manages a jail that handles up to 92 inmates and leads in-depth investigations that may require specialized training such as burglary, robbery, sexual assault, fraud or homicide.
