Located a few blocks away from the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica's picturesque City Hall is bordered by a series of gardens, including a large rose garden. The City Council is stationed there, as well as offices for the City Attorney, Clerk, and Manager; other departments, divisions and subdivisions include the Santa Monica Police Department, Public Works, the Rent Control Board, the Planning & Community Development Department, the Housing and Economic Development Department, the Community & Cultural Services Department, the Finance Department, the Information Systems Department and an office for the Big Blue Bus.
The Ocean Park Branch is one of four Santa Monica Public Libraries and primarily serves residents on the south side of the city - as well as individuals who live in neighboring Venice.
The library may be on the small side, but it's the closest one to the water (just two blocks away) - and the most historic: The Ocean Park Branch is the only one left that still has its original Carnegie Library architecture.
This is Santa Monica's municipal financial and risk-management service, comprising the Business License office, the Treasury office, the Utility Billing Office, and parking offices. Altogether, the offices assist with residential parking permits, business-license payment and renewal, and utility bill payments.
