The Mayors Office of Economic Development of the City of Birmingham is a provider of financial and technical assistance services to new and existing businesses located in the City of Birmingham. Based in Birmingham, Ala., the department offers policy recommendations to the Mayor and Council. It conducts numerous programs, such as marketing/recruiting program, business retention program, enterprise zone program and industrial parks program. In addition, the department provides several state and federal economic development financing programs, comprising SBA 504, EDA Revolving Loans and industrial revenue bond financing.
