Founded in 1875, Temple Emanu-El is one of the oldest Jewish congregations in northern Texas. The organization offers a range of community and social services. It provides a variety of educational and cultural programs. The organization has a college committee that supports graduate students. It maintains a club that offers membership options to couples. The organization owns and operates a cemetery and mausoleum. Temple Emanu-El has a preschool that works to fulfill the emotional, social and physical needs of students. The organization accepts donations from individuals and businesses. In addition, it maintains a social justice council and offers online learning options.
Christ the King School has been named as a "Blue Ribbon School" by the U.S. Department of Education, a school recognition and improvement program. This program identifies and awards national recognition to a diverse group of public and private schools that are unusually effective in meeting local, state, and national goals. The characteristics which singled out Christ the King School as a leader among schools include strong leadership ; a clear vision and sense of mission shared by all connected with the school ; high-quality teaching ; appropriate, up-to-date curriculum ; policies and practices that ensure a safe environment conducive to learning ; strong parental interest and involvement ; and evidence that the school helps all students achieve, no matter what their ability level. Established in 1935, Saint Cecilia Catholic School provides Catholic-based educational opportunities for students. It provides classes in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. The school s academic curriculum includes classes in religion, reading, music, English, math, language arts, history and physical education. Saint Cecilia Catholic School also offers instructive sessions related to computer applications. The school maintains a cafeteria, as well as a library that provides books, magazines, reference materials, and online search engines and databases. It offers several sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, volleyball, golf, tennis, wrestling, football, and track and field. Saint Cecilia Catholic School additionally maintains a student council. The school is located in Dallas.
St. Rita Catholic School is a parish community school that educates Catholic children in accordance with the educational ministry of the church. The school is one of the elementary schools selected as the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. It is a coeducational school that serves more than 600 students in grades kindergarten through eight. St. Rita Catholic School s basic curriculum includes religious studies, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and computer science. Additionally, the school offers arts and music courses for students in grades kindergarten through six. It also offers a variety of elective courses for students in grades five through eight.
