Love Covenant Church functions according to the Ephesians 4:11 model, operating in alignment with the five ascension gifts of Christ: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers. We are a prophetic people who operate under an Apostleship to establish a multi-ethnic, socially and financially diverse community of believers. Love Covenant Church (LCC), founded in August of 1994 by Pastors Tommy L. and Angela P. Frederick, is a multi-cultural, interdenominational church open to all that seek to understand the truth of God?s word. At a prayer service in 1988, the Lord revealed to Tom that he would become a shepherd for Gods people. At the time, the twenty-six year old husband, father, and leader of a singing group entitled One Accord, could not envision the call. Because of Toms reservations, the Lord reconfirmed His word many times throughout the next five years. During that period, both Tom and Angela matured spiritually, and all uncertainties about their calling were removed. Shortly before the opening of the church, God began to instruct Tom and Angela concerning its name and other preparations. The Lord birthed the name Love Covenant Church in Toms spirit during a study of the Book of Nehemiah. Then God instructed Tom about the intricacies of ministry during his six-month temporary duty in Saudi Arabia. In August of 1994, within four months of Toms return, the doors of Love Covenant Church opened. The ministry began with seven people in a small, storefront building on 341 West Liberty Street in Sumter, SC. In just four years, the ministry outgrew the building. Unable to find a suitable rental to meet the needs of the growing congregation, LCC purchased four acres of land on Oswego Hwy in Sumter and constructed a new sanctuary. In January of 2004, LCC completed its most recent renovations including the addition of a new sanctuary and the remodeling of its daycare facilities. In March 2006 Tom sensed it was Gods timing to lead the congregation to "Possess the Land" ten acres adjacent to the existing four acres. This land was to be acquired and paid for in less than nine months. God promised in 1999 that the land would eventually belong to LCC. This exciting vision continues to unfold. You will experience interactive praise that encourages you to participate in a lively corporate expression and prophetic worship You will experience revelatory and practical teaching that strengthens you in your spiritual growth.
