Founded in 1986, National Center for Supercomputing Applications develops, deploys, and supports cyber infrastructure to re-engineer the research process. It is one of the five original centers in the National Science Foundations Supercomputer Centers Program of the University of Illinois. The center is one of the international leaders in deploying high-performance computing resources and in working with research communities to develop new computing and software technologies. Its cyber environments program re-engineers the research process providing research communities the means to fully use the resources available on the Internet. The company offers cyber resources to ensure that computing, data and networking resources are available to solve the most demanding science and engineering problems and that the solutions are obtained in a timely manner. NCSA works with universities and colleges, government agencies, private-sector companies, communities and schools. It Is located in Urbana, Ill.
