Established in 2004, Collaborative for Children is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of early care and education. Partnering with families and community-based organizations, the organization focuses on young children, from birth to age six, and offers programs and services that increase public awareness about the importance of the early years to a child s later development. It provides parents with materials and resources on how young children learn and develop. Collaborative for Children works to strengthen the early care and education systems through policy development and systems change. It is governed by a board of directors that includes leaders and concerned citizens from various sectors of the community.
