The Shepherd Center is a group of volunteers that helps elderly residents keep their independence. The center is part of a nationwide network of 75 centers. The services offered include: transportation to and from medical appointments, help with shopping, record-keeping, and small home repairs. The center has a small office at Trinity United Methodist Church in McLean.
The Moran Family Foundation supports programs for at-risk children and families in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church and Washington, DC. Its goal is to promote healthy development for those affected by poverty.
