The YMCA features aquatic and fitness centers, a climbing wall and rooms that can be rented for parties and meetings. Individuals and families can participate in fitness classes, sports leagues, swim lessons and a variety of other healthy activities.
For more than 29 years, the Patrician Society of Central Norristown has been serving economically disadvantaged families in the greater Norristown area. In 2009, more than 1,300 families were served in one way or another, from children's summer camp to assistance paying winter heating bills. At times, the location has served as a homeless shelter, and provides job training for those seeking employment. Currently, they are operating an emergency food cupboard.
Impact Thrift Stores is a nonprofit organization that collects donations of gently used items and sells them in the organization's thrift stores. All proceeds are used to support local charities. Items are also occasionally donated directly to the needy through local charities. Free pick-up of large items is available upon request. This location is the organization's main store.
