Since 1949, Westchester Arc has been helping people with developmental diabilities and their families.

The day facility in New Rochelle provides classroom learning and community-based activities open to adults who have disabilities such as autistic spectrum disorders, down syndrome, mental retardation, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities.

At least 50 percent of Westchester Arc's directors are related to a person with a developmental disability.

Westchester Arc provides many services including vocational training and job placement; daily living skills classes; recreational activities; bilingual (English-Spanish) outreach; and many more.

Located in the Constable Atrium at the corner of North Avenue and Main Street, The New Rochelle Clinic of Westchester Jewish Community Services offers support for mental, social, physical and educational needs. The clinic offers special Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an innovative therapeutic approach to complex behavioral health, as well extensive gambling counseling and rehabiliation. Part of a 60-site network of clinics, the New Rochelle clinic specializes in adolescent services, therapy, rehabilitation, counseling and other forms of help. The Guidance Center is a behavioral health care center that provides services for children and adults. It is both bi-cultural and bilingual, serving the American and Spanish communities in and around New Rochelle. It provides assisted housing services, early childhood programs, such as universal free pre-kindergarten classes, mental health classes, substance abuse programs and vocational training and job-seeking services. Helping individuals and families since 1942, The Guidance Center offers support and tools for any and all individuals struggling with social, emotional and/or psychological barriers to overcome them and achieve their goals.
