Jewish Historical Society of Michigan is a religious and educational organization on West Maple Road in West Bloomfield. The organization works to document Jewish history in Michigan. It also sponsors programs, exhibits and tours regarding Jewish heritage. The organization works with the State of Michigan to erect permanent historical markers, highlighting events of Jewish history. The West Bloomfield Parks & Recreation Transportation Program provides local transportation to senior citizens, ages 55 and above, as well as people with disabilities. The program serves all of West Bloomfield Township as well as many areas outside it. Medical and nonmedical transports are available; medical transports are used for doctor, dental, optical, hospital or therapy appointments, while nonmedical transports will take passengers to a number of businesses around town. Seniors may call the program to schedule a ride.

Hadassah is located at the east side of Orchard Lake Road, between Walnut Lake Road and Pine Lake Road. This local chapter of the Women’s Zionist Organization of America offers opportunities for women of all denominations, religions and races to give back to the Oakland County community, through largely off-site volunteerism.

Hadassah hosts a weekly doll-making workshop on Thursdays from 9am until 11:30am aimed at offering young women the opportunity to earn Girl Scout badges or mitzvah credit in exchange for creating a doll to give to a child at a local area hospital. Call or visit the website for more information.
