The Peer Gynt Lodge has serves as the center of cultural activity in West Los Angeles for Norwegians, fostering social and educational activities for anyone interested in Norwegian and Scandinavian culture, both past and present.  The lodge sponsors trips, Jule (Christmas) celebrations, cultural and language classes, and Heritage Fairs.

For sixty years, AmVets Post II has served American veterans as well as the citizens of California. Originally founded at the end of WWII to create networks and support groups for veterans of all eras, the organization now consists of 350 members, and seeks to assist individual veterans as they transition into civilian life, continuing their education, beginning careers and building their families.  

AmVets Post II also contributes on behalf of veterans by providing volunteer work at the WLA VA Medical Center, blood drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross and Color Guard Details for veteran events and military funerals throughout California. Additionally, members work with government officials.
