Music and Voice Institute is a nonprofit training and instruction company offering music lessons in strings, drums, woodwinds, brass instruments, percussion, guitar, bass, piano and violin. It hosts offers summer camps for kids ages seven through 13, including music enrichment, piano and guitar workshop, musical theater and performance.
The Soroptimist House of Hope is a women's substance abuse recovery center located in Banning. It offers a 90-day residential recovery program for alcohol and drug addition to all women in the area. If you feel you need help and are looking for somewhere to turn, Soroptimist House of Hope is an option.
The Banning Outpatient Services office of MFI Recovery Center assists teenagers, women and men in need of substance abuse recovery with specific programs for each age group and gender. Behavioral health issues related to withdrawal, such as depression, anxiety and trouble communicating problems, can also be handled by MFI.
The Boys & Girls Club works with children between the ages of 3 and 18. The club opens its doors to troubled kids from all over the city, no matter their economical or geographical situation. Educational programs and activities that increase self-esteem are offered, and positive values are reinforced through tutoring, computer training, sports and mentoring.
The Alliance has renovated the century-old Banning Woman's Club building into its headquarters, adding a sculpture garden with a new Veterans Memorial Wall. It sponsors and organizes festivals that include the pre-holiday Phineas Festival and an Easter-season Art Hop. Led by Executive Director Carol Newkirk, the Alliance is a spearhead organization in the drive to rehabilitate Banning's downtown retail district. The Alliance also operates the Banning Center for the Arts gallery and PAPA theater group.
The Banning Chamber of Commerce is housed in renovated headquarters on Ramsey Street. Dedicated to promoting the city's business environment, the chamber also provides information to new residents and coordinates charitable efforts.
Tender Loving Critters Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization. It operates a network of foster homes for animals and provides shelters and rehabilitative services until they can be placed in permanent homes or can safely return to their natural living environment. It also hosts adoption days on weekends at select local PetSmart locations.
