Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, founded in 1910, is one of the largest metropolitan Jewish community centers in the country. The center provides various facilities and equipment, and customized programs, such as fitness centers, personal trainers, aerobics classes, swimming pool, gymnasiums, tennis programs, day camps, theatre programs, and cultural events. It is a member of the Jewish Community Centers Association of North America. The center has various departments, including adults department, arts and entertainment, Benator Early Childhood Training Institute, Edge Institute for Lifestyles and Living, children and youth department, and Israeli programs. It also has departments that include Lisa F. Brill Institute of Jewish Learning, recreation and wellness, preschool camps, Shirley Blumenthal Park, and Weinstein Center for adult day services. The Shirley Blumenthal Park provides various programs, such as children s programs, parties, art classes and adult basketball. The center offers various membership options and member facilities.

Founded in 1997, Ramah Darom is the newest overnight camp in the national Ramah system. Under the auspices of the Jewish Theological Seminary, Ramah is the camping-arm of the Conservative Movement. Camp Ramah provides a religious, educational camp experience designed to inculcate young people with the values, philosophy, rituals and practices of Judaism in all aspects of everyday life. To date, there are seven overnight camps and several day camps throughout North America, as well as programs in Israel. Ramah Darom is located in the North Georgia Mountains, just two hours north of Atlanta. Nestled on 122 acres of Appalachian Valley, crystal-clear mountain brooks feed its lake and a 100-foot waterfall caps the view. It draws campers from 11 southern states: Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and eastern Texas.

The dining hall in Camp Coleman s Chadar Ochel seats 700. In addition to the dining hall and cabins, Camp Coleman facilities include four recreation centers, an athletic complex, tennis courts, a roller hockey rink, a large swimming pool, a lake, a playground, five shelters for smaller group activities, high and low ropes courses, faculty hotel and a campers lounge. The entire Camp Coleman family eats together in an air-conditioned building. The organization s full-service kitchen is named in honor of Nellie Ward, who has served the Camp Coleman community for more than 20 years. With sessions that range 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks, Camp Coleman s summer office is located in Cleveland, Ga., its winter offices are located in Atlanta.
